In addition to being a staff writer, I was also the web developer for The Tartan.  This job involved me designing and maintaining The Tartan’s website, which included making posts and creating pages, menus and widgets. I organized content and improved the aesthetic look of the website. I worked with WordPress as the Content Management System. I also ran the Tartan’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

As social media operator, I used creative strategies such as Instagram stories, to engage our readership. The day before launching our investigative project, I showed videos  of myself and other reporters driving to New Hampshire to pick up the print issue (so it would arrive the next morning on time). The Instagram story created an curiosity about  what we were driving two hours north to pick up.
